Covid-19 Updates
Safety Measures
Living with autoimmune diseases means that I’m high risk for fatal complications from Covid-19. Needless to say, I’m as careful and as sanitized as I can possibly be. I’m the only person who works in my studio and this allows me to maintain strict cleaning protocols. Every piece is fully sanitized once it’s finished and I package your piece with freshly washed hands. I’ve also taken the time to ensure that every component of my packaging has been thoroughly sanitized.
The USPS follows protocols set forth by the CDC and public health departments; however, your package will inevitably pass through many points of contact before it reaches you. If you are concerned, wipe the external box with an alcohol-based cleanser and know that everything inside is safe. If you can handle the anticipation, another option is to let your package sit untouched for 24 hours after it arrives. Studies have shown that the coronavirus cannot survive on cardboard longer than one day.
Shipping
I choose to ship exclusively with the USPS. All orders are packaged in a flat rate box and shipped 2-Day Priority. All orders include insurance and a tracking number.
That being said, the USPS is understandably experiencing unpredictable delays and tracking numbers may not reflect the accurate status of your package. These challenges are not exclusive to the USPS. All major carriers worldwide are doing their best maintain service as usual during this unprecedented time. Once a package leaves my hands, I cannot be held responsible for the logistics of delivery once your package arrives at the post office.
Production Timelines
Some positive news in all of this upheaval is that my production timelines are actually unchanged. I worked for and by myself from home in my own studio before the pandemic broke and I’ll continue to work from home. In fact, I’m currently accepting custom orders and I’m also creating new work.
My studio is well-equipped and I’m able to design and fabricate without complications. There may very rarely be a custom commission that I can’t accept because I don’t already own the equipment required. Prior to the pandemic I spent one day every week in a co-working studio that has an endless inventory of tools and machinery. I’m unable to work in that space for the time being, but I will navigate custom order conversations as they arise.
Gratitude
As an independent artist supporting myself with my craft, I’m always grateful for your support and patronage. Now more than ever, in these uncertain economic times, I’m extra grateful for each and every sale, share, comment, and digital heart sent my way. We’ll make it through this mess together, wild ones. Stay healthy and stay safe. I’m sending love to you and yours.
